it is really sad when i learn more in the end of the fake west wing debate then watching fox news, cnn, the right wing media, or the left wing media. im not one to ever get political, i hate politics, but that doesnt mean i that i dont want these things change, i do and if i knew of a way to honestly change things to the "good" way i would, but there is never a good way, there will always be somebody to say your wrong, to say what you think is wrong.
thats what i think about politics, i thought i knew what was right, but i didnt, if you are honestly interested in politics, never be stubborn and settle for one opinion find both sides, and weigh them
god, i fucking hate politics, what do you think?

I enjoy politics a lot. Im a poli sci major though. But not in the way of like republican democrats shit. I dont care for either parties. They are pretty identical for the most part except for some minor issues on polices. I feel the apathetic aproach is not good, though it is very easy to become apathetic. My own belief is as a citizen of this country and of this world it is our duty to hold our governments accountable and be skeptical of them. I believe we can go about reaching social change in this world but there is a lot of work to be done. We keep accepting these governments as legitamate when clearly they are not. Ex. 2000 presidental campaign. Bush lost, became president. This is undemocratic and this is not a legitmate government. But made legitmate because of the rules involved. Locke said in order for a government to be legitmate the people have to accept it and make it legitamate. Bush was voted down, yet we still allowed this to become legitamate because of the "regulations". How our country is set up which is called a Single Member district plurality system we are only allowed to vote for one canidate to represent our state, district etc. We have one person we vote for to represent all of us and our "values". Though clearly this is inacurate. A lot of the time the majority canidate dosent win. Its the candidate with the most votes, but not the candidate that most people would prefer. For further example look into the Minnesota Gubernatorial race of 1998 with Jesse Ventura winning, he only had 38% of the vote. This ends up with mostly just 2 major parties who are tryign to cover a broad spectrum of people so most of their policies will tend to be fairly similiar. We end up then with just 2 choices and small parties with different ideas are weak and ussualy do not survive. Some other countires have a Proportional Representaion system which allows for minority parties to have more power and more say in government and allows for people to have more choices than one. They do not have nominal ballets like we have but they have ballets that allow for 2nd choice, 3rd choice, etc etc. this is a much more democratic system. It is not perfect either but is closer to gainging authentic democracy. The mainstream news media is full of shit. Fox news is biased news, most news reporters though tend to have more liberal leanings but the CEO's of these companies tend to be conservatives so news is weird. All the major news networks are pretty much consolidated by 4 major corporations and the news will not be that different. Watch the film "The Corporation" it has interviews from people inside and outside the business. It is very interesting and has some very incetiful interesting reports in their about the news media and the companies that own them. I could go on ranting forever. I will be amazed if anyone reads this and cares. I am out.

I always feel like I could do more, but at the same time I'm to lazy to do anything.
I just try and support locally owned stores and stuff
